While a few years ago management gurus use to apply the defence principles in the corporate world, the trend is reverse now, according to Shekhar Dutt, deputy national security advisor, government of India.
Dutt was speaking on the occasion of the annual convocation ceremony of the Indian Institute of Social Welfare and Business Management in Kolkata.
"Earlier, the management gurus borrowed heavily from the military. Today the flow seems to be in the reverse direction. The management principles have become so scientific that the military can ignore them at its own peril,” he said.
Fighting was not very different from the management of a project, as efficient and cost effective methods were relevant to a war and its execution, Dutt said.
