Agartala: Girls have outshone boys by securing seven of the top 10 positions in this year's Tripura Class 10 examination results announced Monday.
"Among the 10 toppers, there are seven girl students, four of whom have bagged the first four positions, setting a record," said Pratush Ranjan Deb, secretary of the Tripura Board of Secondary Examination (TBSE).
"Girls have fared better than boys in both urban and rural areas."
The overall pass percentage this year has, however, decreased to 62.96 percent from 70.42 percent last year - an all-time record after the TBSE was constituted in 1976.
